I just learned today that Saturday will be a big day for us!
While I was sitting going through yet another Excel spreadsheet at work, the executive assistant to the president of the company I work for came up and asked if I was Sara.
Then she handed me a ticket to the Cubs/Sox game on Saturday and asked if I lived in the city or would need a parking pass!
Ok, I know this might not sound exciting at first, but it really is, so let me explain.
My company as some of the best season tickets you can get at Wrigley Field. This is the series of numbers on the ticket that was handed to me today...23-4-B-6
I had to look it up too...Google "Wrigley Field seating chart" right now and look those numbers up...oh ahead, I'll wait...
Back? You should have discovered on that little field trip that these seats are BEHIND HOME PLATE. Like right behind it.
Obviously I was over the moon, I love going to Wrigley, I named a dog after the place for goodness sake. I remember school field trips to see Cubs games, I remember my parents taking me there, I remember one particularly beer infused game in the bleachers...it's never not a good time at Wrigley.
So the first words out of my mouth were "THANK YOU!" were followed very closely by "Hey, I have a 2 year old, can I bring him?"
A few hours later Donna called my extension to tell me her Cubs contact said that was more than fine and I shouldn't have any problems getting the two of us in with one ticket.
And with those words I finally realized why I had never managed to take Wyatt to a Cubs game before now...the universe wanted this kid who is so obsessed with sports to experience baseball for the first time (live anyway) in the coolest way humanly possible. Amazing seats at the Cross Town Classic!!!!! It really does not get any cooler than that.
Have no fear, I will be making sure my phone battery is charged and the extra is in my purse so I can take 6,000 pictures and immediately post them all to the internet in real time.
I cannot wait to get down to Wrigleyville and walk around a little bit, show him the Harry Carey statue, let him watch the L go by. It's going to be such an amazing evening with my all time favorite person.
Don't forget to watch for us on TV! GO CUBS GO!
