For those who may not have heard yet, last week I lost my job. The company I worked for has been laying off and/or firing a lot of people lately and I had a feeling my time was coming. And it did.
There are good things and bad things about losing a job. I choose to focus on the positives rather than stress about the negatives (I know! It's a new thing for me!).
So here are some of the positives.
*I get to be home with Wyatt!
*Unemployment is going to cover my bills while I look for something new
*I have some time to get the apartment cleaned out and up
*I finally am starting to feel stress free; it was amazing how much that job was taking out of me every single day I was there
It's been an adjustment for sure. Mostly for me. I haven't been a full time, 24/7 mom since Wyatt was 4 months old. So I'm having to get used to spending all day every day taking care of him while trying to get things done. There is an apartment to be cleaned, meals to make, etc all in the midst of entertaining an 18 month old. Let's just say I don't quite have it figured out yet.
I have been making sure we are keeping busy. I want Wyatt to still have good interaction with other kids of course, but more than that I want to make sure to get out of the house. So we play outside, we took a trip to the park the other day. And we visited some friends and the Grands one day. Today we had gymnastics and a McDonald's play date.
At the moment I am happy with the job I am doing as a full time SAH mommy.
I can do better though.
And I plan to....starting next week, lol!
