I wanted to give myself a place where I can muse about being a mom...I know that nothing I say here will really be all that new, that a million mom's before me have probably had the same thoughts and feelings and experiences. But I need an outlet for them and I want to remember this time in my life! Never again will I experience my first pregnancy, my first time in the delivery room, my first night with my first child. I may have other children some day and I will have all the same firsts with them, but it won't ever be the FIRST for me again.
I am now realizing what a privilege it is to the the oldest! I was the first for my parents like Wyatt is the first for me; how amazing! Growing up as the oldest child is hard since your parents are learning how to be parents while you are learning how to be yourself, but now that I am a parent I see what an awesome thing that is, what a special place in my heart Wyatt will always have no matter how many siblings he may get in the future.
So I plan to use this blog to record my feelings about my adventure with my very first child, the love of my life, the most beautiful and special person I have ever had the good fortune to meet. And some day when Wyatt is having his first child and realizing how special it is to look at them for the first time, I will share this all with him and he can know what an amazing journey he and I took together.
